LEASOWE.
After our RSPB group trip to Hungary it was back to a bit of local birding. I'm sure Lowra (sic) will be posting a report on our fantastic trip very soon......watch this space.
A turtle dove is a very rare bird in the north west, so it was great to catch up with one over at Leasowe, present for the second day,
Also present in the horse paddocks were 2 wheatear, 1 whinchat.
Chiffchaff still around but no sign of YBW.
Sparrowhawk patrolling the edges of the fields where plenty of goldfinch, linnets, meadow pipits and pied wagtails.
Sean.

Blimey, still on Hungary time Sean.
Weather was good yesterday, looks like you had a fab day. Nice pics of the dove.
Chris and I checked out Norris Green Monksdown for the Glossy ibis yesterday morning, but no sign. As for the blog Lowra is not scribing this time, Robbo is sweating on it as we speak!
